Letters for the Month

I love ideas like this, whether it’s NaNoWriMo or Script Frenzy I love the idea of having people write and participate in something that is larger than them, yet personal enough to feel that you were a part of something. This idea is right in line with that.
The Month of Letters Challenge. Simply put, for the month of February write a letter a day. A genuine sent via USPS letter. Sure it is going to cost you a total of around $13.00 which is the only kicker. So, this is not a cheap challenge. I like the idea of sending mail and possibly getting mail. I may just be waxing romantic on the idea, but I think I may do this. Would you write back?

  1. I totally like this idea! People don’t write letters anymore. The USPS is having to cancel Saturday mail delivery because they have been losing money since the 90′s with the boom of email. They don’t even teach handwriting in school anymore. I too think it is a romantic notion to write a letter out in long hand, but I also think it is a fun and rewarding activity to do. I may just do this myself!

  2. I strongly encourage you to! I had fun going out and finding some stationary with The Broad to write on and add an even more personal touch. Thinking about the stationary made me remember that it wasn’t too long ago that letter writing was still a popular form of art. http://www.letterheady.com/
